About Us

Crockett Gallery Crockett Gallery was founded by Willie C. Crockett. Willie was born on Tangier Island. He painted with the strength of a lifelong intimate knowledge of the creeks and marshes where he grew up fishing and hunting waterfowl. His paintings are recognized as being among the most honest portrayals of the drama and beauty of the Chesapeake Bay . Best known for his wildlife art, Willie's paintings are an ever fresh view of the Eastern Shore landscape, the wildfowl and the Bay. An occasionl easy transition into colorful abstracts, animals, nudes and flowers speaks for the versatility of the painter and the sensitiviy of the man. While best known for his glowing watercolors, he had great talent with oils and acrylics. Willie Crockett died in March of 2021. His legacy remains above many fireplaces on the Eastern Shore.
Today many of Crockett's original painting can still be purchased in the gallery, and in addition to his prints, his daughter Carol Crockett, an artist in her own right, also displays her work. All of the prints are available online. Originals can be seen at the gallery Monday through Saturday 9:00 - 5:00.
